フリーウェアのリモート・デスクトップにはVNCがありますが、Bosco's Screen Shareのバージョン2.0がフリーでリリースされています。
TimbuktuやApple Remote Desktopほど完成度は高くないですが、フリーでWindowsとのクロス・プラットフォームですし、VNCより使うのは簡単にできています。実際に何か作業するのであればともかく、ちょっと何かみてみる必要があるという程度のことであれば十分ではないかと思います。ダイアルアップではとても動かせないパフォーマンスだと思いますが・・・
